FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding?
LSR is a two-component platinum-cured silicone injected as a liquid into a heated mold, where it vulcanizes in seconds. Compared with solid silicone (HCR) compression molding, it gives tighter tolerances, near-zero flash, full automation and lower per-part cost at volume.
LSR vs HCR — which should I choose?
Choose LSR for precision parts, thin walls, high volumes and medical/optical use. Choose HCR (compression molding) for very large parts, low volumes or when an existing tool already exists.
Can you overmold LSR onto plastic or metal?
Yes. Self-adhesive LSR grades bond directly to PA, PBT, PC and PPS without primer. For other substrates we use primer or mechanical interlocks. Send us your substrate material and we recommend the grade.
What is the mold lead time?
Standard single-cavity or multi-cavity cold-runner molds: 15-25 days to T1 samples. Complex multi-material molds: 25-35 days.
What is the MOQ and how do you quote?
No fixed MOQ — we quote per part. Send a STEP/IGES/PDF drawing; DFM feedback and formal quote within 24 hours.
Which reports do you provide?
FAI (full dimensional), PPAP, material CoC, and per-batch MES traceability. Medical parts ship with lot-level curing and inspection records.
